Scenes that Inspired Watermarked

Despite the veneer of difference, the colonial world by parent type is pretty similar, so wherever you travel you come upon familiar lifestyles and landmarks. Watermarked draws on some of these.

Scenes that inspired Watermarked

Fireside at King's Landing

My grandmother cooked with blackened pots with ear handles and stump toes similar to these I saw at King's Landing, New Brunswick. The flames under the pot burn bright at the highest boil and cool or go out when the firewood burns down or is removed.

Prince Edward Island Lighthouse

The Prince Edward Island Lighthouse is a Canadian landmark in the national colours, red and white. This beacon gives assurance to the lonely looking out that dark clouds have passed and are way behind.

Green Gables

Visiting Green Gables was an experience I looked forward to. I wanted the aura of Lucy Maud Montgomery to be an incentive for me to complete my young adult fiction collection. The Lucy poems remind me of this impending project.
